The Digital Archive Process |
 |
The process of converting scrapbooks, pictures, and
documents (from now on referred to as 'your items') from paper to DVD is accomplished
through a series of phases.

The DEMONSTRATION PHASE |
| In this phase we explain the process of
converting your items to a Digital Scrapbook. We will show you sample
scrapbooks and the resulting Digital Scrapbook as well as images recreated
on paper from the Digital Scrapbook. We not only explain the
conversion process, but we also explain the importance of our DVD
Storage
option and how it is integrated into the rest of our services.
Although this phase can be done individually, it is normally done in a group
environment such a scrapbook party, family gathering, or other group
setting. This phase may or may not be combined with the CONSULTATION
PHASE. |

The
consultation phase |
| In this phase we
meet with you individually and answer any remaining questions you may have. We review the items that you want converted to DVD,
identify any issues or limitations that may arise during conversion, and make sure
that we understand exactly what you want. We also provide you with a
written invoice that completely describes your project and enumerates all items
that we receive from you. It is in this phase that we pickup the items that you
want converted. You will be required to put down a deposit equal to 1/2 of
the invoice total prior to our beginning the
scanning phase. |

The
scanning phase |
| In this phase we convert each of your
items into digital format. When converting your items to digital
format we only use the recommended resolutions for screen display and
reproduction printing. This gives us the correct resolution for DVD
authoring, and also allows us to reproduce photo quality images. After this phase is complete your items
are ready to be written to a DVD. |

The DVD
authoring phase |
| In this phase we
take each of the items scanned in the SCANNING PHASE and create your
personalized DVD from them. If you ordered a Digital Scrapbook, we create slide shows
from the digital data and store the slide show as well as digital data used to
create the slide show on DVD. The set of slide shows that we create act
just like a paper scrapbook. This is why we call our DVD a Digital
Scrapbook. Each image used in a slide show is manipulated to the correct size and
color ranges to correctly display on a television monitor. Also
navigation buttons are added so that you can flip through your slide
show. For this reason a copy of the original digital image is used to
create the slide show. Your original digital images are never altered.
In this phase we also put your new DVD through our quality assurance process
to make sure that you are getting exactly what you asked for in the
CONSULTATION PHASE.

The
packaging phase |
| In this phase we create a personalized
package for your DVD by printing a design, that you chose in the
CONSULTATION PHASE onto the surface of your DVD and onto a jacket insert for
your DVD's jewel case. |
|

The
delivery phase |
| In this phase we hand
deliver your DVD to you, review with you how to navigate your DVD, and make sure that you
are completely satisfied with your new DVD. Once we are sure that you are satisfied with
your new DVD, the digital versions of your items are completely removed from our computer
systems.
If you purchased the
Storage option with your new DVD, a
storage copy of your DVD is made before the data is removed from our systems.
